10-year-old girl jumps out of marathon crowd to support and run with her mother to the finish line

Children are the biggest inspiration for their parents. Often, it is their smile, their appreciation or even just the thought of them that keeps parents going in the face of struggle. A child strengthens their parents without even knowing it. @cakebycourtney shared an inspiring clip where her daughter pushed her to succeed. The self-taught baker mom recently participated in the REVEL Big Cottonwood marathon where she was struggling to finish the race when something wonderful took place.

Like every participant, Courtney too was exhausted and struggling to go on. However, her 10-year-old daughter was right there to support her. Courtney posted a heartwarming video where her daughter joined her from the crowd onto the race track to help her finish her race. She said, “I hope neither of us forget this moment. She knew I was struggling for the last few miles. She saw tears in my eyes when I called on mile 24.” The video captured Courtney running with all the strength left in her with opponents close behind her, when out of the crowd chirpy and cheerful as ever came her daughter. She ran straight to her mother and held her hand offering tremendous support. As soon as Courtney saw her, you could see her face light up. 

As the mother-daughter duo continued to run hand in hand stronger than ever, Courtney couldn’t help but smile through the finish line. Her face changed from a stressed and exhausted look to a bright smile in a jiffy. The text overlay read, “Nothing could have prepared me for the moment my 10-year-old daughter would jump out of the crowd and run me to the finish line.” Soon after the race was over, something heart-melting took place. The video showed the fatigued Courtney being held by her daughter in the sweetest embrace. “And then she just held me,” Courtney said.

She knew she found strength beyond measure with her daughter’s adorable gesture. Several commenters were in complete awe of the endearing moment Courtney had with her daughter.  @kelsey_terry91 said, “I watched this like 5 times and it had me bawling! The most tender moment ever!!! Something you'll never forget.” @baked.by.joyce said, “Wow amazing! That extra boost is what all moms get whenever their babies are there cheering for them.” Children are truly the reason parents smile.

A similar instance was shared by @vintagebound where her daughter Tea was all decked up for a very special outing. On being asked, she revealed that she was dressed for “going on a date with Dad!" 

She further explained to her mum that she had something planned for her dad as a surprise and said, “I wanna call him and then say, 'Dad, I'm going on a morning date with you this morning.'" She even had her outfit and makeup ready to meet her handsome hero and have the time of their lives. What next? She and her dad had their “best date ever” at Target and Starbucks where they shopped and strengthened their bond. Little Tea intended to go all out with her dad. She said, "Yeah, and I'm gonna get whatever I want there.” Her planned date indeed was a wholesome and heart-touching one. Nothing beats the innocence and love of a child for their parent!
